According to CNN, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is seeking a second term against a phalanx of hardline conservative opponents. Rouhani was a key architect of the 2015 nuclear deal with the US, the EU and other partners. And in part, the election is being seen as a referendum on that agreement. So far, the agreement has only yielded mixed economic results for Iranians.
