In an effort to lure top tech talent, Goldman Sachs hired Andrew Tout, a Silicon Valley-insider. Tout hails from Square, a San Francisco-based financial tech company. Goldman also increased starting salaries for New York based programmers from about $83,000 dollars to over $100,000.
