News video: Hurricanes Boost Consumer Prices For GasAccording to Reuters in September the U.S. recorded the largest increase in gasoline prices, in nearly eight months. The increase is said to be attributed to the country being hit with back to back hurricanes. Those hurricanes created disruptions in production at oil refineries in the Gulf Coast. Additionally prices for U.S. Treasuries rose while stocks on Wall Street continued to hit record highs. The dollar was little changed against a basket of currencies. Other reporting revealed the economy was swiftly recovery from the damages incurred from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma showing a strong comeback last month in retail sales.
