She is known for her involvement in the founding of Amazon, and her marriage and high-profile divorce from Amazon and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos. She is a signatory to the Giving Pledge, a commitment to give at least half of her wealth to charity. In 2020, she made US$5.8 billion in charitable gifts, one of the largest annual distributions by a private individual to working charities.
