Brooks Brothers is the oldest men's clothier in the United States and is headquartered on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York City. Founded in 1818 as a family business, the privately owned company is owned by the Italian billionaire Claudio Del Vecchio. The brand also produces clothing for women, and Zac Posen has been its creative director since June 2014. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July 2020, squeezed by the global COVID-19 pandemic and shift towards casual office attire.
