Monday, 14 January 2019 Devotees are gathering in northern India for the world's largest religious festival, with millions of pilgrims travelling to bathe in holy rivers for the spectacular Kumbh Mela.
Ash-smeared and Naga Sadhus or Hindu holy men, wearing just rosary beads and garlands, smoking wooden chillums (cigars), were a huge draw at this week's Kumbh Mela in India, the world's largest religious festival.
