Tiger Woods Breaks 14-Year Masters Drought to Win 2019 Titleby 👨‍💻 Adam Yardley

Tiger Woods has made a sensational comeback on golf’s main stage this past weekend, having sensationally won the 2019 Masters Tournament. It is his first Masters title since 2005, and it is also the first time since 2008 that he has claimed a major title in the sport. Sports pundits are calling his victory one of the greatest comebacks in modern sporting history – and after enduring years of injury, his two-shot win at Augusta appears to have sealed a genuine fairytale turnaround.

According to CNN, part of Woods’ recovery on the main stage comes after he underwent spine fusion surgery two years ago. Since 2014, the golf legend has struggled with injury woes which prevented the 43-year-old from ascending the same career highs he once knew so well. However, in recent years, he showed promise of becoming a champion once again.

It’s been confirmed that Woods is now only three major titles behind the legendary Jack Nicklaus, who holds the all-time record of six Masters in his entire career. Woods, like Nicklaus, also holds the distinction of being the only player to have sealed Masters wins in three separate decades. It’s worth remembering that Woods started very young, as most golfing champions do – and he scored his first Masters title in 1997, aged just 21.

Woods took an extraordinary lead in the tournament at the 15th hole, having battle Francesco Molinari for the title all the way into the final third of the course. It was, according to reports, Woods’ double birdies on holes 15 and 16 where he managed to establish a lead – and to make it more than clear that, at long last, a legend had returned to the links.

Woods, despite having received negative press with regard to his private life in recent years, has returned to the world of golf a hero. Like in years gone by, the star’s name was being chanted by crowds who were suitably impressed by his comeback. Winning a Masters tournament is something very special indeed. For Tiger’s legions of fans worldwide, there is hope that this will be clear indication of future successes to come.

With so many talented golfers in the world today, things have just gotten that little bit more exciting – with Tiger Woods, at long last, healthy enough and focused on being the absolute best in the world.
