It’s time for us to take another quick trip down memory lane to see what went down in years, decades and centuries past. Could we be heading back to the 17th century? Perhaps only just last year – without further ado, let’s see what our time machine has got in store for us as we take a look back at this week in history.

November 19th, 1990 – Milli Va-null-i
It was a pop music scandal unlike any other at the time – as it emerged that popular vocal duo Milli Vanilli hadn’t, in fact, been singing on their huge album ‘Girl You Know It’s True’. As a result, they were stripped of their Grammy Award on this day in 1990.
Famous Birthday: Jodie Foster (Actor), 56

November 20th, 1986 – The War on AIDS Begins
Warnings surrounding the horrors of AIDS began to sweep across the globe in the mid-80s, and as a result, the World Health Organization first announced joined efforts to combat the condition on this day back in 1986. Since then, leaps and bounds have been made – HIV positivity is no longer a death sentence, and many researchers believe a cure for the condition could be in sight in a few years.

November 21st, 2017 – Robert Mugabe Resigns
The end of an era – a controversial one – took place on this day last year, as Zimbabwe leader Robert Mugabe announced his resignation as President following moves to impeach the figurehead. He had spent 37 years in power.

November 22nd, 1995 – ‘Toy Story’ is Released
It was the first-ever full movie to be made entirely in CGI (computer-generated imagery), and as a resulted, Toy Story revolutionized big screen animation for good – both in terms of its technology and in terms of its storytelling. Pixar’s unbelievable run of fantastic movies started here, on this day, in 1995.

November 23rd, 1979 – Pink Floyd Releases ‘The Wall’
One of their most iconic collections of music – and one which accompanied a psychedelic movie of the same name – The Wall – was released by Pink Floyd on this day back in 1979, with a colossal six million records supposedly sold during its first two weeks of release.
Famous Birthday: Billy the Kid (Outlaw), 1859 - 1881

November 24th, 1859 – Darwin Changes History
Charles Darwin, famed naturalist, first published his phenomenally important ‘On The Origin of Species’ on this day in 1859. It’s a tome which helped to revolutionize the way we see life on Earth, and one which of course helped to grow and cement evolutionary theory in modern society.
Famous Birthday: Ian Botham (Cricket Legend), 63

November 25th, 1979 – Madden and Summerall’s First Game
John Madden and Pat Summerrall remain two of the most influential names in sports commentating history – and they would broadcast their first game together, starting a 22-year relationship on-screen, on this day in 1979.
Famous Birthday: Joe DiMaggio (Baseball Legend), 1914 - 1999
