Dubai: Interpol has elected South Korea's Kim Jong-yang as its president in a blow to Russian efforts at installing former Russian police general Alexander Prokopchuk as president.

CNN reports International police agency Interpol has elected its acting head South Korean Kim Jong Yang as its new president. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had endorsed Kim, a South Korean police official to replace former president, Meng Hongwei, who was recently detained on his return to China.
