Nobel peace laureate Abiy says militants, global powers threaten Horn of Africa
Tuesday, 10 December 2019 Militant groups and global military powers both pose a threat to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa, Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said on Tuesday after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for forging a peace accord with Eritrea.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in ending decades of hostility with Eritrea. But he says the Horn of Africa faces a new rising threat: militant groups and global superpowers' thirst for supremacy.
