U.S. removes sanctions on Latvia's second-largest port
Wednesday, 18 December 2019 The United States has removed its sanctions on one of Latvia's main ports after the Baltic country's government took control of the port, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Wednesday.
Germany appealed to the public on Tuesday to download a new smartphone app to help break the chain of coronavirus infections, one of several such apps that European governments hope will revive travel and tourism safely. Emer McCarthy reports.
A congressional watchdog said the federal government sent 1.1 million stimulus payments to dead people. According to Business Insider, these dead people received a total of $1.4 billion. The Government Accountability Office said the problem came partly because of administrative issues. While the IRS has access to death records from the Social Security Administration, the Treasury Department does not.
