Taiwan president tells China they will not give in to threats
Saturday, 11 January 2020 Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen said on Saturday that she hopes China understands that democratic Taiwan will not concede to threats and intimidation and that the island will decide its own future.
Amid growing contention over the democratically-ruled island of Taiwan,Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday China will never allow its sovereignty, security and development interests to be undermined. Gloria Tso reports.
China's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday the United States' approval of a potential $1.8 billion arms sale to Taiwan would have a major impact on Sino-U.S. ties, and China will make the necessary response as the situation develops. Francis Maguire reports.
