cell phone as teachers call card to wanted to go to school and educator the week sot: amari webber/6th grade student--"i used to want to be a doctor but since seeing dr. robinson, now i want to be a teacher" track: let's face it...it's prey common for a 6th grade student to change their mind, faster than the school bell rings. track: but if its something positive, that makes a 6th grade student confident-- sot: amari webber "i was like...there is no way that i am trying this...but she inspired a lot of us to just try our best and i really feel like i can pass this test with an easy a" track: prepare to meet the teacher, who's all for it. sot: dr. melinda robinson/eow--"s elf motivation comes from within..' track:doctor melinda robinson is a 6th grade english and language arts teacher. her class is busy reviewing for state tests. in other words...she's got a lot to teach... sot: dr. melinda robinson/eow--"b eing an ela teacher is a teacher who sees what they are learning in class and how that applies to the real world" track: and they've got a lot to soak in.. sot: dr. melinda robinson/eow--" i have rigorous centers going on..we have vocabulary centers, where they get on vocabulary dot com...technolog y...and then we have a regular vocabulary center where they look up the word...finding the content clues...and then i also have a comprehension center...where they have to read the passage and answer questions." track: it may track: it may sound like a "book load" of work-but dr. robinson says her students work hard and score better--because she pushes them with love. sot: dr. robinson--eow "i want to make my involvement with them as real as it can be...so i try to become as many different parts or people as i can with them ..i am not just only their teacher..butted sot "i try to have a bond with them in order to show them that i am human just like them...i make mistakes and when i do i allow them to correct my mistakes as well." track: and if one student makes a mistake--classma tes jump in--to help out.. track:now let's turn the page to the the climax in our story---the surprise momrise moment. the 6th grader you saw at the beginning of the story, wrote the letter--nominatin g dr. robinson. email us at wcbi dot com, to nominate an outstanding educator in your area. stinger
