"i think that's why this rally was so important that we come out here and say to our politicians 'this is the life that we're living and our lives are in danger here' and that's why legislation needs to be passed, something needs to be done." while some schools across the nation counted students absent or tried to deter them from participating in the walkout... fayette county public schools helped coordinate today's events. spokesperson lisa defendall says the district fully supports students' exercising their free speech rights.
