Thousands of students plan to walk out of class for 17 minutes tommorow... to remember the 17 people killed at the florida high school shooting.

This video shows kennewick high school students a few weeks ago doing the same thing.... calling for gun reform.

And tomorrow, students across the country will do it again.

Districts in central and eastern washington say they know this is coming.... some issuing statements.

I spoke to students in richland today to learn why they plan to participate.

Sot/dylan: "we're not jus sitting here becoming desensitized."richland hig students dylan tonn and logan jackson -- one of thousands across the country expected to walk out of their classrooms tomorrowsot/logan: "it need to stop."nats: kids chantin exactly one month since the shooting at stoneman douglas high in parkland-florida.nats: 911 call17-students and staff killed in that shooting --many -- now demanding change.

Sot/dylan: stricter background checks when purchasing a weapon, wider and better access to mental health care for treatments and facilities..."sot/logan: " think by us having this walkout we're just going to showing our support, even though we are in a smaller area."local school district releasing statements ahead of the walkout -- saying students do have the right to exercise their free speech.richland even promising a police presence to make sure students stay safe.sot/dylan: it's time for a change... logan and dylan -- just two voices representing young people nationwide who believe that change -- sot/dylan: "... it' going to come from the students."
