Couple weeks ago - but the action in pyeongchang is far from over.
Right now the 2018 paralympic games are happening in south korea - and much like the olympics - our area is well represented.
Marc deperno - the director of the sitrin stars here in utica is currently over in pyeongchang as a coach with the u-s wheelchair curling team.
Entering today - the team had unfortunately struggled mightily in the tournament - going 1-7 in the first eight contests of the games.
However - deperno said the team is in good spirits despite the record and while i can't show you any highlights of theirs due to broadcast restrictions - we have some awesome photos courtesy of deperno from the opening ceremonies the other night.
I had the chance to catch up with marc via facetime - where he discussed his experiene overseas thus far and gave a little insight intthe din olympic curling and wheelchair curling.
Marc deperno: it's unbelievable just to represent team usa in a great country and be surrounded by amazing athletes all of their own unique pses a stories it'sjust unbelievable walkingntthe openg ceremonies just experienc the energy and just frothe crowbut the countrin the wod in genel it's beenbsolutely breathtaking.
Well it certainly the same game in the same eyes the same stones but it's different in terms of there is no sleeping which ar towardthe stone leave the athles stick it's awful it's on there's no way to control it and sweepers so it ma different variables which is probably a bit more difficult but nevertheless it's an amazing game with so muctalent being shown across ev sheet with from team usa but even more now from other countries.
