Former NFL cornerback and Super Bowl champion Brandon Browner has been charged with trying to kill his ex-girlfriend after allegedly breaking into her Southern California home.
Browner was arrested on Sunday and is facing four felony charges including attempted murder.
According to police reports, Browner is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home through a locked window, chasing and dragging her before smothering her with a carpet.
Police say Browner stole a $20,000 Rolex watch from the victim and fled the scene before officers arrived.
He was arrested later that afternoon without incident.
This isn't the first time Browner has found himself in legal trouble.
In the past two years, he's been arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, child endangerment and possessing cocaine.
Browner played five seasons in the NFL and won Super Bowl championships with Seattle and New England.
Bail has been set at $10 million.
He's due to be arraigned at the end of the month.
