Massive Shark Teeth Dating Back 25 Million Years Found On Beach

An amateur fossil hunter and teacher in Australia found the teeth of an ancient mega shark in a boulder.

????Museums Victoria said it is the first discovery of its kind in Australia.

????Philip Mullaly discovered the nearly three inch long teeth at a fossil site on Victoria’s Surf Coast.????They belonged to an extinct species known as the jagged narrow-toothed shark that grew to be more than 30 feet in length.

????It hunted in small whales 25 million years ago and was the cousin of the infamous Megalodon.

????Following the find, Mullaly and a team from the museum went back to the site and found over 40 teeth.

????But researchers say that smaller teeth found in the area imply that smaller sharks were feasting on the larger shark in a feeding frenzy.

????The teeth were donated to the Melbourne Museum by Mullaly and are currently on exhibit.
