Tonight... donations are going to help thousands of texas households affected by hurricane harvey.
Channel 5's christian von preysing is live tonight in beaumont to show us how those donations are now being distributed.
You've got to understand... these donations are pouring in from all directions.
Big groups small groups.
The supplies have to go to the right place.
Late in the day, volunteers are picking up what's left after people in beaumont came by to receive supplies.
Inside this local radio station, there are more supplies ready for tomorrow and to send to other nearby cities.
Erik conteras - volunteer "we're waiting for lumberton too, for the water go down so we can help them out."
This station is now a hub for supplies from other states, other cities, including the valley.
People are using the food, water, diapers... a father who lost everything looking for clothing... "he had a two year old, he had a ten year old and a thirteen year old.
We're trying to help him out."
It's an example of where all the donations end up going.
"gracias a toda la gente que estuvo aqui en este bonito dia.
Nunca se nos va a olvidar el 3 de septiembre."
"thank you everyone who came.
We'll never forget september 3rd."
Local networks put the word out.
Even at this radio station, where the tower was damaged during the hurricane.
"we're actually not on the air right now but we're still doing the steaming and we're also doing the facebook.
And that's been helping a lot."
Supplies from all over... "there's thousands of people in need in the golden triangle."
Ending up where they're needed.
Those supplies are distrubuted not only by locals like the ones we showed you.
The national guard is now helping with that too.
Tonight at 10:30 we'll explain a little bit more about how they're helping.
