Orange and Seminole county ambulance strike team members return home from Hurricane Florence aftermath
Ambulance Strike Team 501 returned home Thursday, which was made up of Orange and Seminole county firefighters.
They spent nine days assisting first responders in North Carolina before and after Hurricane Florence.
The team helped a number of emergencies: stopping a gas leak, helping extinguish a fire and saving one man having a heart attack.
AST 501 returned to Station 30 to a warm welcome of family members and fellow firefighters.
A second team, AST 502, has picked up where 501 left off as worse flooding is expected next week while dams drain water to coastal areas.
