Solar Probe Sets Record For Fastest Spacecraft

According to Business Insider, a NASA spacecraft broke a record for the fastest human-made object.

The Parker Solar Probe launched back in August to investigate the outer region of the Sun's atmosphere, the corona.

The billion-dollar solar probe will reach speeds close to 213,200 miles-per-hour while flying past the Sun.

During its mission, the probe will have to navigate clumps of plasma that are over 3 million degrees in Fahrenheit, as it orbits the Sun 15-million miles away from it's surface.
