Japan To Resume Commercial Whaling

E&E News and Science News have announced that Japan is withdrawing from the International Whaling Commission (IWC), Japan plans to resume commercial whaling next year.

With its withdrawal from the regulatory body, Japan ends its controversial scientific whaling program.

Scientific whaling occurred annually under commission oversight.

Japan stated it will stop whaling in the Antarctic.

Japan's decision was quickly denounced by several nations, including Australia.
