This Sandbar Cricket Pitch Is Probably the Least Suitable, but Most Picturesque, in the World
The Submarine Cricket Club plays on a pitch like none you’ve ever seen before: a sometimes-submerged sandbar in the stunning Bay of Islands, New Zealand.
The club can only play on the sandbar – known locally as “Submarine Rock” for its shape – at low tide.
According to the New Zealand Herald, games take place twice a year at the location, when cricketers battle for the Submarine trophy.
