Turkish President Calls US Security Comments A "Serious Mistake"
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan says the US made "a serious mistake" demanding that Turkey pledge not to attack the Kurds.
"Bolton's remarks in Israel are not acceptable.
It is not possible for me to swallow this.
Bolton made a serious mistake.
If he thinks that way, he is in a big mistake.
We will not compromise."
US President Donald Trump announced late last month that he would be pulling US troops out of Syria.
US National Security Advisor John Bolton said last week in Israel that the US' withdrawal was contingent Turkey promising not to attack the US' Kurdish allies.
Turkey considers several Kurdish groups to be terrorist organizations.
