TIME-LAPSE OF WAVE-LIKE SNOW FORMATIONS MOVING ACROSS FIELD 2.

SLOW MOTION REPEAT OF SHOT 1 STORY: A camera in the station of New York State's Mesoscale Weather Network near the Village of Penn Yan captured wave-like snow formations, known as sastrugi, moving across the field on Monday (January 21) after a heavy snowstorm.

The weather phenomena caused by constant wind gusts of 30-40 miles per hour (48-64 km per hour), easily blew the light snow around and formed structures not entirely unlike sand dunes, the NYS Mesonet told Reuters.
