NASA’s Parker Solar Probe Just Completed Its First Trip Around The Sun
NASA’s Parker Solar Probe just completed its first orbit around the sun and is now beginning its second of 24 planned orbits.
????So far, the spacecraft is fully operational and we should have a full data set from its first orbit downloaded by April.
????And researchers say that of the data they’ve analyzed already that the probe is “revealing the mysteries of our Sun.”????To get ready for its next encounter, the spacecraft is getting updated positional and navigational information as well as one month’s worth of instructions.
????The probe is set to makes its closest approach to the sun for a second time on April 4th, 2019.
????It come within about 15 million miles from the sun which is just over half the previous solar approach of 27 million miles set by Helios 2 in 1976.??
