China upbeat on U.S. trade talks

China struck an upbeat note on Monday as trade talks resumed with the United States, but also expressed anger at a U.S. Navy mission through the disputed South China Sea, casting a shadow over the prospect for improved Beijing-Washington ties.

China struck an upbeat tone on Monday as trade talks resumed with the U.S. (SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESWOMAN, HUA CHUNYING, SAYING: " For us, like the rest of the world, we hope to see good results from the trade discussions." But that China remains committed to resolving the trade frictions
