Sinkhole Appears in Hermosa Beach After Rain Drenches LA County
A sinkhole appeared on a residential street in Hermosa Beach, California, on the morning of Thursday, February 14, after Los Angeles County received heavy rain over the previous 24 hours.
More rain was forecast into Thursday afternoon.The National Weather Service warned that up to three inches of rain could fall before 2.15 pm, with the potential to “create shallow mud and debris flows” near the areas of the Woolsey Fire, Stone, Creek, and La Tuna Fire.Flash flood warnings were also in effect for Riverside and Orange County on Thursday.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office closed roads and issued a mandatory evacuation order for Trabuco Creek.
