Senate Republican Delivers Blow to Trump Border Emergency

According to Reuters, the U.S. Senate appeared poised to pass a proposal to terminate President Donald Trump’s declaration of an emergency at the southern border.

Republican Senator Mike Lee said that he would be voting on Thursday to end the emergency declaration.

Lee said that “For decades, Congress has been giving far too much legislative power to the executive branch.

I will be voting to terminate the latest emergency declaration.”
