Co-Founder of WhatsApp Says People Should Delete Facebook In 2014, Facebook acquired the messenger from Brian Acton for $19 billion.

He then left in 2017 over disagreements concerning the platform's running of promotional ads.

Since departing, Acton has not shed away from his disdain for Mark Zuckerberg's company.

Following the Cambridge Analytica scandal, he promoted #deletefacebook.

During a recent conference at Stanford, he continued his criticism over Facebook's business model.

Acton claims that tech giants like Facebook and Google are putting money over privacy.

Brian Acton, via Stanford University Acton went on to say that the idea of moderating content to get rid of disinformation and hate speech is impossible.

Therefore, he says the only course of action is for people to delete their accounts.
