Algerians Take To Streets To Celebrate Longtime Leader's Departure

Reuters reports masses of Algerians took to the streets of Algiers, the capital, late on Tuesday to celebrate the departure of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

Bouteflika was in power for twenty years.

During celebrations, young people waved Algerian flags and drove in convoys through the city center.

Earlier this year, on February 22, mass protests broke out against the former ruler in the same location.
