Report: Texas Teacher with Alleged Ties to White Nationalist Group Placed on Administrative Leave
A teacher at a Dallas high school has been placed on administrative leave while officials look into allegations that he has ties to a white nationalist group.????HuffPost reports that Stephen Arnquist, who teaches Japanese at Skyline High School, is being investigated by officials for his alleged involvement in the group Identity Evropa.????The Southern Poverty Law Center, which classifies hate groups, lists the white nationalist group as an extremist organization.????According to HuffPost, Identity Evropa members participated in and helped organize the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia which turned deadly.????HuffPost reports that an anit-facist organization called Eugene Antifa posted an article that alleged Arnquist was a member of Identity Evropa.????According to HuffPost, an independent media group Unicorn Riot, published communications between group members, which included a “Stephen - TX”.????That user said they were a “high school Japanese teacher in the ghetto”...????...and complained that the school went from 90 percent white in the 1970’s to “40% Black, 60% Hispanic”.????HuffPost reports that data shows 99 percent of Skyline High School students are nonwhite.????Arnquist did not respond to HuffPost’s request for a comment.
