VC Sports Teams Go For League Titles In S.A.

The end of an era for victoria college sports this weekend.

For the past decade plus, the pirates have been extremely successful playing in their club league against other teams from around south texas.

Vc has won four league championships in women's basketball, three in men's basketball and eight league crowns in volleyball.

This weekend, these victoria college teams will play their last league championship tournament.

Vc volleyball and women's basketball are top seeded.

Volleyball won the league tournament last year.

The pirates will start national junior college athletic association play in august.

I talked with some of the pirate athletes about their seasons.

It means a lot just to win it, to get that far as we did.

We also entered the tournament last year ranked as number one and we came up short.

We're in the same position but hopefully we can finish it this year.

We play together so well and when we see somebody down we pick them up.

We're just ready to play our hardest and get another title back-to-back.

We work together very well.

We work as a team, like as a family.

If there's ever any problems we know how to work through them and that's what just gets us through it.

I'm very confident in the way we've been playing.

We've been shooting a lot of three's, playing as a team.
