Winds gusted up to forty miles per hour in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Thursday, April 11, knocking out power for thousands in the region, the National Weather Service reported.Video posted by the Minnehaha Sheriff’s Office captured power lines shaking as the winds blew through.In addition to the stiff wind, ice accumulation contributed to downed lines, according to emergency officials.

Thousands were without power on Thursday across the midwestern United States as a winter storm swept through the region, Minnesota Public Radio reported.
