‘Game of Thrones’ Final Season Premiere Drove Record HBO Now Subscriptions
That massive “Game of Thrones” Season 8 premiere audience just got more even bigger.
AT&T CFO John Stephens said Episode 801 has been watched by more than 27 million people.
According to SFGate, the week ahead of the fantasy drama’s final-season premiere led to the most subscriber adds in HBO Now history.
On April 14, the premiere pulled in 17.4 million multiplatform viewers, accounting for “the largest night of streaming activity ever for HBO.”
TheWrap reports, HBO is in about one-third of U.S. homes and the premium cable channel.
Putting up these numbers for a show that isn’t as accessible as those on broadcast and basic cable is very impressive.
