U.S. General Says U.S. Will Counter Dangerous Action From Iran

Reuters reports U.S. Central Command chief General Kenneth McKenzie said on Saturday that the United States would deploy necessary resources to counter potential dangerous actions from Iran.

Sky News Arabia reported that McKenzie, on an official visit to the Gulf region, said, โ€œWeโ€™re going to continue to reach out to our partners and friends in the region to ensure that we make common cause against the threat of Iran.

The Trump administration last year withdrew from an international nuclear deal with Iran and increased sanctions.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and senior military commanders have threatened to disrupt oil shipments from Gulf countries if Washington interferes with Tehran oil exports.
