Winds Down Trees in Odisha After Cyclone Fani Makes Landfall
Winds gusting up to 185 kilometers per hour swept through Bhubaneswar in India’s Odisha state on May 3 after Cyclone Fani made landfall the previous day, the county’s national weather service said.
Thousands of people were evacuated from the state before the cyclone arrived on India’s eastern coast on Thursday.
Cyclone Fani was expected to make its way toward West Bengal, where it would hit as a severe cyclonic storm before moving to Bangladesh, the National Disaster Management Authority said.
