Teen's Customized Graduation Cap Honors School Shooting Victims
A high school senior from Ashville, Ohio, has added a QR code to her graduation cap in a tribute to students killed in school shootings in the US.
The code leads to an online list of those killed in school shootings, dating back to Columbine in 1999.
Gina Warren, a pupil at Teays Valley High School, tweeted a video of her customized cap on May 9.
She told BuzzFeed News that she planned to wear the cap to her graduation on May 19, in the hope that the code will send anyone who photographs her gown to the list of victims. Other high school students have since asked if they could also wear the QR code on their caps, and Warren shared an image of the complete code so that anyone can join her in her fight against gun violence.
