(SOUNDBITE) (English) ENGLAND MANAGER GARETH SOUTHGATE, ON SELECTING HARRY KANE DESPITE INJURY, SAYING: "Well, that is one of the unknowns really, he's obviously working towards being fit for them for their (Champions League) final.
We've got to see how that progresses really, so clearly, he's a player we would want to give every opportunity to, his goalscoring record for us is phenomenally high and he's captain of the team, so we're keeping that door open and we'll have to see how things progress." 2.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) ENGLAND MANAGER GARETH SOUTHGATE, ON SIMMERING RIVALRY BETWEEN PLAYERS IN SQUAD, SAYING: "What's clear is that these clubs are now going to clash in big matches and we've got to make sure that we handle it well as a group and we've got to make sure that we always bring them back to..
When we're with England, we talk about the things that make the difference, we've done that really well.
You've got to always park that rivalry and that intense rivalry that's going to grow and make sure that we keep what's made us powerful over the last period of time as an England team." STORY: England captain Harry Kane has been included in Gareth Southgate's squad for June's Nations League finals despite an ankle injury, Southgate said on Thursday (May 16).
Kane, who has not played since sustaining the injury in Tottenham's Champions League win over Manchester City on April 9, faces a race against time to be fit for the final of that tournament against Liverpool on June 1.
England play their Nations League semi-final against the Netherlands on June 6, and Southgate is hopeful the striker will complete a full recovery over the next three weeks.
Following the Netherlands clash in Guimaraes, England will face either hosts Portugal or Switzerland in a final or third-place playoff on June 9.
Much of his squad will be busy preparing for the final games of the season as four English clubs have progressed to the two major continental tournament finals.
