Close To 180 Former Ohio State University Students Claim Sexual Abuse By Doctor
Nearly 180 men who attended Ohio State University claim they were sexually abused more than two decades ago by now-deceased Dr. Richard Strauss.
A report released by the school stated that university staff who knew of the abuse failed to act, says Reuters.
Staff reportedly knew of the abuse as early as 1979, but complaints were never elevated to administrators or senior officials until 1996.
University President Michael Drake issued an apology, stating “the findings are shocking and painful to comprehend.” He went on to say, "Our institution’s fundamental failure at the time to prevent this abuse was unacceptable."
