SUN'S RAYS SHINING DOWN IN A PATH THROUGH DARK BLACK AND GREY STORM CLOUDS ABOVE MOUNT OLYMPUS MOUNTAIN RANGE STORY: After a heavy rainstorm in northern Greece on Friday (May 17) the sun broke through a sea of dark clouds, casting its mystical rays on Mount Olympus.

In Greek mythology Mount Olympus, between the provinces of Thessaly and Macedonia, was home to the 12 ancient Greek gods, who Greeks believed controlled the weather, often to express their wrath against mortals.

The highest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus has 52 peaks, its highest with an elevation of almost 3,000 metres.
