Labour call for 'business as usual' at British Steel

Thousands of jobs are at risk as British Steel is set to go into insolvency.

The shadow business secretary has called on Business Secretary Greg Clark for, "stability and assurance that they will do all they can in government to ensure business as usual continues".

Rebecca Long-Bailey added: "I want to see those plants viable and ongoing, and if public ownership forms part of the mix to ensure that that happens, I think that's something that the government needs to strongly consider".
