A madison county nurse...is now accused of sexually assaulting a patient.
...and state police say it didn't just happen once...but several times...during one visit at baptist health richmond...the hospital the woman trusted for care.
Abc36's alexus larson is in the studio tonight with more on the case.
This man...49-year- old alvin buckmaster from berea... is accused of assaulting his patient...as he was treating her...back in october.
I got his arrest citation- and what's in these documents is too graphic to share here - but it has buckmaster facing serious charges.
Kentucky state police say surveillance video from baptist health shows buckmaster alone with the patient nine different times...for just a few minutes at a time.
In the court documents, ksp says the victim told troopers the nurse touched her inappropriately and forced her to do the same to him...first, as he collected urine and blood samples...then later when he came by her hospital room with a blanket and a pillow.
State police arrested buckmaster tuesday afternoon.
"i think these allegations caught a lot of people by surprise.
I know earlier today when i heard about them i was quite surprised, and i spoke to our investigator and he had the same kind of thought."
I reached out to baptist health and they gave me a statement.
It says in part, "the nurse is no longer employed by the hospital.
Bapstist health richmond has fully cooperated with ksp in their investigation.
The safety and security and care of our patients will always be our primary focus."
The victim agreed to have a sexual assault examination and ksp is also using her clothes for dna evidence.
Buckmaster faces a charge of sexual abuse, first degree...and will be in court again for it at the end of this month.
