New Zealand Mosque Shooting Suspect Pleads Not Guilty To 51 Murders

The man accused of the New Zealand mosque attacks has pleaded not guilty to terrorism, murder, and attempted murder charges.

28-year-old Brenton Tarrant appeared at the hearing via video link from a small room at the maximum security prison where he's being held.

The courtroom was filled with 80 survivors and family members of the 51 who were slain, says Newser.

According to the AP, Tarrant showed little emotion during the hearing except for smirking a couple of times.

Tarrant has been charged with 51 counts of murder, 40 counts of attempted murder, and one terrorism charge.
