News anchor and managing editor, Norah O'Donnell, discusses joining "CBS Evening News" debuting tonight.
"CBS actually created the evening news format, 70 years ago... and very few women have held that role.
So I'm really humbled by that, it's historic," says O'Donnell.
"I think what we're trying to do is be that trusted voice for people... where there is real news," and adds, "We're going to provide information, and I think we have that lane wide open... I really want to know not only what happened today but why, and how it effects my life, so that's our mission." O'Donnell adds, "I want to interview Justin Timberlake" and "Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea... This is the biggest national security crisis, potential crisis, for our country.
The President has engaged with him, which he deserves some credit for, and I think if President Trump can solve this and get North Korea to denuclearize that would be a good goal, foreign policy goal and win for the President."
