During flooding in Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer warned residents it could get worse. While he said floods were already “devastating,” Whitmer said they were expected to rise. According to the HuffPost, more than 10,000 people were forced to evacuate their homes. The National Weather Service called it “catastrophic dam failures” at the Edenville Dam. Whitmer said: “It is a tough time to be sure, but we are going to get through this.”

(Newser) – A white woman who called police on a birdwatcher in New York City's Central Park on Memorial Day will be charged in connection with that call.
