Legislators hope National Park Service can protect local monuments

On the 242nd anniversary of the Battle of Oriskany, two state legislators are asking the governor to help protect two local historic sites.

On this 242nd annivrsary of the battle of oriskany, two state leaders are asking the governor to help protect two local historic sites.

The oriskany battlefield state historic site and the steuben memorial state historic site are now under control of the new york state.

State senator joe griffo and assmbleywoman marianne buttenschon announced that they have sent a letter to governor cuomo asking him to consider granting the national parks service full control of the two sites.

They believe it ghout the ially save the state money, put several of the mohawk valley's revolutionary waest from the fel umbrella and ensure that the battlefield rese.
