Vince Carter Becomes Longest Tenured Player in NBA History

Vince Carter Becomes Longest Tenured Player in NBA History.

The 42-year-old will play in his 22nd and final season after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

He is currently tied with four other players at 21 years in the league.

Carter spent last season with Atlanta, averaging 7.4 points in 76 games as mostly a bench player.

The eight-time NBA All-Star was originally drafted fifth overall in 1998 out of UNC by the Golden State Warriors.

He was then soon traded to the Toronto Raptors, where he spent the first seven seasons of his career.

Carter hold a lifetime scoring average of 17.2 PPG in nearly 1,500 games and a Rookie of the Year award.

He also won the league Slam Dunk competition in 2000 and has taken home two gold medals with Team USA in the Olympics.
