All Flights Cancelled For Second Day After Singing Protesters Stream Into Hong Kong Airport

Flights from Hong Kong International Airport were cancelled for a second day as protesters continued to hold demonstrations in both terminal buildings on August 13.

The Airport Authority had attempted, unsuccessfully, to limit access to the buildings to passengers with boarding passes, the Hong Kong Free Press reported.

The protesters had staged continuous sit-ins at the airport over the weekend to put pressure on the government to accede to “five demands,” including the complete formal withdrawal of a proposed extradition bill that ignited the initial protests months previous.

This footage shows demonstrators perform Do You Hear the People Sing?

As they moved through the airport, as well as passengers finding a route away from protester’s blockades.
