Sol Campbell has left his post as Macclesfield manager by mutual consent after just eight months in charge.

Campbell took over at Moss Rose in November last year and guided the Silkmen to safety in Sky Bet League Two.

'A good day for football' says Forest Green Rovers chairman as season ends

Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince has told PA news agency: “I think it’s been a good day for football. The regular season in League One and League Two is over after clubs voted by an overwhelming margin to cut the season short due to the coronavirus pandemic. Clubs opted to use a framework for ending the season put forward by the English Football League board, which meant the final table would be calculated using an unweighted points-per game basis.

League Two clubs have unanimously indicated they are in favour of ending the 2019-20 season. However they have asked that no club be relegated to the National League. Fine details still need to be determined in terms of how the English Football League will determine promotions.
